see how Windows 3.1 looks on it. (Not that I am going to get rid of my
Amiga for a Windows machine!!! Perish the thought!!! I want a laptop
and I can't get an Amiga laptop so a 386sl color w/windows will have to
do.

You might wish to know that the 1960 is less expensive than the
1950, so I hope you got some kind of refund. The 1960 is specifically
designed to support Amiga video modes ONLY, according to some tech people
I've talked with. Although I don't know if that means it won't work with
standard IBM VGA boards, but that was sort of the impression I got. I use
a 1950 with the Microway flicker fixer and have had excellent results both
with the Amiga, IBM VGA cards (and windows accelerator cards), and Amax.
Perhaps you only needed to make some adjustments to the flicker fixer.

You are not correct. Dealer price for the 1950 and the 1960 are *exactly*
the same.

Then the dealer from whom I just bought another monitor quoted me
differently. They quoted me a price of $599 for the 1950 and $499 for the
1960.
I have no idea as to why, perhaps your dealer had a surplus of 1960s?
Regardless the dealer price of the 1950/1960 is the same number.
Unless something changed this week.

The "tech" people you talked with evidently had no experience with
the 1960, as it is a full multiscanning monitor which works perfectly
with any vga output (which is basicly what your flicker fixer gives you;
VGA output)
Also, the 1950 would not work with either the FF or the vga card,
so I was sure it was the monitor, which seems to be confirmed by the fact
that they sent me a new 1960!
