#GIF converter?

Hello,
Is there a utility that converts CIS GIF images to Amiga format in a
decent quality without the need for 24-bit cards? The viewers that I've
found are only good to preview pictures in my opinion.
Any tips would be very welcome!

Max,
our product Imagemaster does a superb job of reading GIFs and then
converting them to the best possible viewable image on an Amiga. There is
nothing else available at this time on the Amiga that does as good a job
of rendering those images in an Amiga display mode. Period. :^)

Thanks for the info, I asked some people about the product and they said
about the same thing as you (they don't work for Black Belt).
Now, how can I get the product? I have never seen it in any store here in
Switzerland. How much does it cost?

Imagemaster is currently priced at $249.95 suggested retail; that means
that it can be had via mail-order in the US for as low as $125 or so,
which provides NO support from the dealer, more from a full-service dealer
who will help you after you buy it. It is primarily distributed by
MicroPace in the US, with some distribution having been done by American
Software. In Switzerland, it might be easier for you to try
Renderland/Animotion in Germany? <I'm guessing>
Then there will be shipping, etc.

If nobody has answered already get the Viewtek prg off here to view yer
GIF's etc.
Have you tried Rend24? It will do a decent job displaying GIF files (it
even has dithering options).
Look for it in the graphics utilities libraries.

BME can convert GIF and TIFF files to IFF ILBM, although conversion is not
its primary purpose. It's available for $150 in the HotLinks Editions
bundle, with PageLiner (a text processor) and HotLinks (the data exchange
system).
Preview: BME displays all pictures in 16 grayscales. It is 1200/4000
compatible, but doesn't take advantage of the higher color modes yet.
