I have come into a 5 1/4" Amiga drive (1020). Is it possible to use it as
an Amiga drive or is it an IBM file copier to/from Amiga?

Yes, it can be used as an Amiga drive, it needs to be mounted and
you only get 440K from it.

You can use it as an Amiga drive, but it will hold only half as much as a
regular 3 1/2" floppy.
