Help! Just put a Radio Shack CDR-1000 in the empty slot in my IBM-AT
compatible 386/25. Got power to it, but can't access it. Tried doing the
software install, got it in okay. But drive "d" comes up invalid, and when
I run my autoexec.bat I get "invalid dos version" although I'm running
MS-DOS 5.0.
Any ideas?
I had the same problem with a Mitsumi drive I purchased at Software Etc. I
simply put the "SETVER.EXE" command in the config.sys prior to the driver
and it worked fine.
I since have upgraded the MSCDEX driver (from one found in the MSLIB
section here) and I now longer need the "SETVER.EXE" command.
I hope this helps.
I just had the same problem. You have to set your dos version in your
config.sys. The driver will not load high!! If you have QEMM, it will try
to load the driver high and it will not work. Load the driver low and try
it. Let me know you made out.
