Craig, If you don't mind me jumping in here. I am using OPTI-NET on my Lan Manager network. Just upgraded from 2.0 to 2.1. I am running an old release of OPTI-NET by the way, ver. 1.2. When I upgraded I tried changing the CDROM server (AST Premium 386-33Mhz e/w 4Mb RAM) to the LM TCP/IP protocol. It did not work very well. The ethernet card kept going into a failure mode and when a workstation would try to access the cdrom server, the workstation would lock up. I changed it back to NETBEUI and haven't had a problem since. Having said all this, I don't want to mislead you into thinking OPTI-NET will not work with the tcp/ip protocol stack. I still think I was running into a high memory/upper memory block utilization problem. The AST refuses to turn off shadowing the bios because of the screwy 200Mb hard disk it came with. The TCP/IP stack appeared to be partially loading in expanded memory and partially in upper memory. I just didn't have time to chase it all down and get it corrected. I needed to get the cdrom server back in service. Anyway, it's all working fine now. Tim
