I just got the Creative Labs Multimedia Starter Kit for Christmas, and am having trouble with the number of drives I have and the CDROM driver. I have two physical hard disks, with the C: drive configured with Stac Electronics' STACKER, so the system has three logical drives (C:, D:, and E:). When MSCDEX is run, I get a message saying "No drive letters available". If I run FDISK and remove the logical partition on drive D:, MSCDEX works fine and configures the CDROM drive as E:. I have tried running MSCDEX before the STACKER installation in CONFIG.SYS, but this doesn't correct the problem. There is NO documentation on MSCDEX parameters in the documentation I received. Does anyone have any idea how to set MSCDEX to use logical drive letters F:, G:, or H:? I really need to run STACKER on both hard drives. Thanx.

Jeff I got the same kit <s>. Add to config.sys the line LASTDRIVE=F (or a higher letter). When the CD-ROM driver tries to add itself it finds there isn't room for another drive letter. I'm having problems with the Windows installation of drivers so don't feel too alone. Rud
