Well, we ALMOST had 6.2 ready before the Christmas break, but
there was a mysterious memory-trashing bug that we need to
track down. The Institute will reopen Monday, January 4.
We should be able to fix it in a few days, then a week to
validate the patch (using new validation procedures to
ensure no repeats of the 68881 problem). So look for it
in mid-January.

Doug,
I ran into a major snag with cback.o that comes with the 6.1 release, it
gurus under 1.3. I compiled the source for the version that came with the
6.0 release which seems to work on the A500 here under 1.3, but I've got a
beta tester with an A1000 that's still complaining of gurus, can't confirm
that one though as my A1000 died a few years back.
I'm not much of an assembly hack, so I can't be more specific about
where it's broken and I don't have any notes handy at the moment. Just
wanted to pass this along before it slips my mind…

Thanks for the report. I think this one has already been reported,
but I don't have access to our problem database at home, so I
can't tell for sure.

Doug,
Ok, thanks. I'd assumed that it had been reported before, but when I
say your note about an upcoming 6.2 I just wanted to be sure.
If anything, it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one still
targeting 1.3 compatibility…
