#AnimaqPC w/ QuickPass

Is there anyone out there using AnimaqPC w/ QuickPass? It is very nice
…..but….. I have a little problem. I have moved my TARGA+ 64 and the
DQ-455+ to another CPU. Everything functions just fine rendering from 3ds3.
but as soon as I try to use AnimaqPC I get an error telling me to check my
VTR or CABLE. I know that these two things are ok because I can operate
fine in 3DS3.
AnimaqPC works in windows and uses IRQ-3; I/O address 3e8. The old cpu used
a different video (speedstar 24), the new one uses a Viper. Also, I have
different network cards. The CPU USED SCSI 1 and the new CPU uses SCSI II
(ultrastore vlb).
Anyone have any ideas.

I haven't dealt with this particular issue, but the machine I use at home has a
viper in it, and I have NOT been able to get ANYTHING to work at 3e8 (Modem,
etc.). That could be your problem. I have a call into Diamond, and will let
you know what I hear.

I have also tried IRQ 3 w/ 3e8 and IRQ 7 w/ 2c8. Neither option seems to
work. I don't have a BETA SP deck in my office. I have to go to another
office to output to BETA SP. If you have BETA SP and also a generic VGA
non-vesa local bus card, could you try using it in a vesa-local bus cpu to
see if your problem goes away. I would be very interested in your results.

You can do the simplest test, just yank the Viper, put in a Trident or some
ET4000 based VGA card (Keep it simple, we ALWAYS use Tridents to detect VGA
hardware conflicts, they're pretty benign), and see if quick pass works! (I
don't have the quickpass upgrade yet)
I'm sure that there are more "nervous" Viper owners out there that would like
to know, so keep us posted!

Have you ordered AnimaqPC w/ QuickPass? I had it running on a
different CPU 486/33 w/ Diamond SpeedStar 24. It worked great? Oops,
I just sold that CPU? ;(
I will keep you posted. Diaquest has told me that they are going to
test the Viper card. I probably will not try any alternatives until
the 20th of december. That will be the earliest time that I can
connect up with my BETA SP counter part.
Just for clarification, you have a Viper, a 422+ Diaquest, and Action
Animator… Right?
