Help! I'm so mad you just won't believe. I can't download diddly with Term on my Amiga! I try to start the transfer but nothing happens. I wait and wait, and all I get is "Host timeout." Well I know what that means, I just don't know how to get it to transfer. I have to download all files with my Dad's PC and the use cross dos on my A4000 to copy it over. So you can imagine the frustration. Please tell me how to get it to download. I suspect that there are a few things I'd like to get. I'll need pretty explicit instructions as I'm new to the whole modem thing. Thank you Craig C Randall I'd consider buying Autopilot where it not for the fact that my wallet is still crying after purchasing Real3D V2.0. Boy that was expensive!

Craig, Set TERM to 8bits, No parity, 1 Stop Bit (8n1) that should take care of the problem. Don

Craig, make sure that TERM is set up for 8 bits, No Parity, 1 Stop Bit (8-N-1) when prompted by CIS: select the file to download select a protocol that TERM supports from the list provided by CIS make sure that TERM is set up to use that protocol enter a filename for your computer (if so prompted) ex: ram:<filename>.LHA if using a protocol other than a version of CIS B, use the file transfer menu option from within TERM to begin the transfer I'd stronngly suggest that you spend some time in the Practice Forum (GO PARACTICE) where you are not charged for connect time and can play with this until you get it working. Once all is working well, be sure to check out the demo version of AutoPilot in library 9 of AmigaVendor (GO AMIGAV)… it automates CIS messaging and file transfers… you'll need to download AP.LHA and APDOCS.LHA and then decompress them with LHA which is a self extracting archive and can be found as LHA138.RUN in library 16 here in AmigaUser Forum (GO AMIGAU).
