I'm contemplating adding a CD-ROM to my '030-based A2000, and have a few questions: Given an appropriate file system (like AsimCDFSv2), can CrossPC or PCTask run Messy-DOS programs from the CD-ROM? That is, will CrossPC recognize the CD-ROM as a Messy-DOS device? Assuming a 'standard' CD-ROM drive (NEC or Toshiba, for example), can CDTV or CD32 titles be run on the Amiga? Is something additional required to do so? Anyone have any recommendations and/or AALC (Avoid At All Costs) stories? Thanks in advance for any and all feedback. – Rob. I have a Toshiba 3401B and have run one or two CDTV titles but it is always touchy. SOmetimes it is as simple as copying some fonts front the CD to your fonts directory on your Harddrive. Other times they are complete no gos. Really to bad……. I hope that CD32 does develop the same CDTV problem where most of the sodtware is CD32 specific and will not run on a CD equipped Amiga. Hey, I want to play Wing Commander II and the expansion sets on CD like the IBM Clones, don't you?? 🙂
