You might recall that I was having a problem with the -12v supply for my Amiga 500. Well, I found the problem! I opened the connector leading from the power supply and found a big blob of solder between the -12v pin and the signal ground pin. This would cause the power supply to show -12v at the proper pin UNTILL you put a load on it (by plugging it into the Amiga, maybe?). Anyway, a quick clip with the wirecutters, and my Amiga is now working the way it was designed. I am amazed that it worked as well as it did with no -12v supply, that's great engineering! I uploaded a thread of my attempts to get help from CBM's Customer Support into the hardware DL (I couldn't think of a better place.) I hope this can save someone else some anguish and $$$. Thanx for your help. -cjp-
