Could you explain what you mean about Big Things happening W/ regards to high end printing and color? and also "next Windows ver. as standard in printing industry"? NT or 4.o? I read "Publish" , "Image"and "Color Pub." to try and grasp the range of possibilities of output for me when I am fully pro. These magazines help as I acquire terminology to let me keep up w/ new things that will help later. I'm also wishing that I'd see a trend towards an inexpensive tech. for high res. output! I'm an architect/illustrator and the kind of graphics needs for me are very different than others. Conceptual graphics sometimes are used and discarded w\ amazing speed! Economy is important and I guess that's why I should probably find my way into video as an end product and stop hoping for a good cheap print! Thanks, Gary

Read my message to Don Landis, Gary. We work with prints (directly from our dye-sub and work for press in digital formats -using the Kodak as a proofing device). However, we also work with video and animation. Different media, different methods, different tools, different sciences 🙂 Color managment is a nightmare. You can get it very serious, just serious or in a "what you hope to get will be what you see now" way <g> For us, it's serious (we don't have our little studio walls painted with a 50% special non-reflexive gray paint and an special room just for the printer. But we really want that what we see will be the same piece reproduced in thousands of copies of a magazine. And we are doing it, moreless. It is just practice, the right solution, patience and spend a little money. Today, it seems that you will be able to get color accuracy without the spend. Solutions like the KCMS (Kodak Color Managment System) for multiple devices, are making this possible. Please read that message and wait a little bit 🙂 ana /krazy images
