#Imagine 3.0

Vance,
We have left nothing out, the flower has just not reached full bloom.
Sometimes I worry like you that the flower may take forever to bloom, there is
so much to simulate, an entire universe. I fear we may never see the full
blossom but we can watch.
Good luck on your project, if I can help please feel free to call upon
me or any of the folks at Impulse, we enjoy the journey and the watching.

Well, I did my first test render with Imagine 2.9 and I'm quite happy. Not
only did it turn out, but the Agate texture looks fabulous in HAM8 on the
A1200.
I created a "Highland Grey Consulting Inc." logo, using the Spline Editor
and a Post Script font. I used most of the defaults when extruding the
title, except for rounding the front and back. I then applied the Agate
texture and rendered the logo against a stock .02 starry sky.
It was lit from lower-left-front and upper-right-front bring out some more
depth. You may not have included the enhanced anti-aliasing yet, but at
736×482, it looked fine to me. *B^)
The final general layout of the simple render reminded me of the
OpalVision multi-coloured logo in the magazine ads. Even in 16 colour
preview, it looked good!
Although I had Essence I texture set, after seeing what you have included
so far, I don't think I'll miss Essence for awhile…
Making 3D titles have never been easier for me to make. Just type in the
text and blam(!), instant character placement, grouped together and ready
to toss in the virtual air.
I'm quickly getting the hang of the 'real-time' perspectives, yet it is
sort of like getting used to the Space Shuttle's guidance thrusters. A
user has to keep from getting carried away too quickly, or you end up
tumbling your objects away from where you want them.
The changes I've seen, so far, really open my eyes and validate the time
you've needed to work on them.
Yes, though it WAS a long wait thus far, it IS WORTH EVERY SECOND!
Looking forward to 3.0!!

Vance,
OK now for the cool stuff, In the detail editor, Join the letters and
make one object now play with the axis placment and Twist, Bend Shear and Taper
that logo in a state system, then animate the states as a morph, it will know
your knickers off.
The neatest part of all this is that I am playing with 3.0 everyday and
you and other users are going to go crazy with the even new new stuff.
Happy Holidays.
Mike
Thanks for the tips, Mike! Happy Hollidays to you and yours, and a Happy
New Year, too! *B^)

Mike,
to build on Vance's comments regarding the spline editor, I must
congratulate you on the fact that extruded text comes with face subgroups
already created, with descriptive names such as "front bevel". This makes
creating the hard edges a snap! (You know… "pick subgroup/boundary edges")
This complete implementation of an idea is always a delight when encountered,
and missing in a lot of Amiga software.
Blaq!
Charles,
Thanks, just a quick note,. when you export the objects form the Spline
editor the hard edges are already set, of course you can make any changes you
want but they are already there., Just a note.
Happy Holidays
Mike
