Looks like I have the almost the same hardware. I guess you swich off auto
dithering first. Imagine 2.9 shows the pics only in 256 color mode. If you want
to see 24bit color, you have to leave Imagine and use an other viewer. But if
-Davidve auto dither on, Imagine reduces your pics to 256 color.
Right!
From now on, no more auto dither aaaannnnnd…
It did work! I guess you do need 24-bit to display accuratly!
Sorry that I discredited 2.9's rendering, its pretty good after all!

Brad, thanks for addressing this. I had the same questions and was also
wandering if there were settings in the preference editor that affected the
rendering. I thought I had probably missed something in the 2.0 manual.
This'll put me on the right track too!
