>>>>>I would like to know if there is a video driver for the Speedstar Pro used with NT version 3.5 that will support all the video modes that I am used to on Windows 3.1. I am running it now in 800×600 in 256 colors. I would like to have 800×600 with true color capability like I have in Windows 3.1. I am also hoping that a video driver would speed up things because it seems that the Cirrus driver included with NT 3.5 is a little slower than Windows 3.1. <<<<<< The driver supplied with Windows NT 3.5 takes advantage of all the accelerated Features of the Speed Star Pro (Make sure that you are using the driver listed as Speed Star Pro). Windows NT is much better in multitasking, memory protection, and sharing information over networks. Unfortunately, these improvments come at a price, performance. On the same system running Windows applications Windows NT will almost always be slower. Windows NT also requires quite a bit more memory. Selecting, run in seperate memory space will help some Windows application run faster. This is because of the Way Windows NT Multitasks, I believe Windows subsystem and all Windows applications running under it are treated as one task. Running in seperate memory space runs the Windows application as a seperate task. –Wayne Johnson Diamond Multimmedia Systems' ES Dept.
