I have recently purchased a Diamond Stealth 32 to replace an Orchid Prodesigner
II. Part of the rational for the Stealth 32 is that it is compatable with the
ET4000 chipset used on the PDII. I was very disappointed when I installed the
new version of NT 3.5 Workstation. If I select teh Diamond Stealth 32 setting
from the Display manager, it appears to only drive the card in the interlaced
mode at 1024×768 and at 60hz at 800×600, both resulting in very annoying
flicker. I tried the built-in driver with both a Nanao 9070U and a Mag MX17
monitor. Same results on both. I have installed the NT 3.1 drivers that came
with the card and they appear to work correctly, except that the new Control
Panel Display utility complains about them bein "Down-level" drivers.
Is there an updated driver for NT 3.5 available?

Unfortunately I cant't help you, but you're in a better position than I am. I
also installed NT3.5 and have the same problems. I also tried the generic
ET4000 driver with the same result. I don't even have the drivers from NT 3.1
Hopefully somebody can help us solving this problem

I tried the drivers I used for NT 3.1 (available on Tseng) and it still has
flicker (in 1024X768). I guess it must be some weird interaction between NT
3.5 and Tsengs lower level W32P stuff. Don't hold your breath waiting for a
fix, its still in the denial phase.
The NT 3.1 drivers were on the diskette that came with my card. They are also
in the library here if you want to download them. The good news is that you
can get reasonably flicker free displays at 800×600 and 1024×768 with the
"down-level" 3.1 drivers installed into 3.5. The only trick is that instead of
installing them through Windows NT Setup, you have to install them through the
Display manager in Control Panel. But the installation DOES work.
I'd still like to see a response from Diamond…
OK, I'll download the 3.1 drivers.
But I would really appreciate an answer from Diamond.

We currently do not have a Stealth 32 driver for Windows NT 3.5. I do not know
why the Microsoft driver does not support higher refresh rates. I beleive it
should and might possibly be a problem with the driver. You might want to
contact Microsoft and see if they are comming out with an revised driver.
