The great thing about the "cross-grade" is that it's a full working version
of Photoshop 3.0 that doesn't mess with your Photostyler directory – you can
still use your Photostyler fully and ween yourself away. I got my upgrade from
PC-Connection today. Comes with a loaded CD-ROM (you can install from – no
disk swapping!!) and also the Adobe Type-On-Call CD (w/ Adobe Type Manager).
All and all a great deal for $185.00 if you already have Photostyler!

yeah, Photoshop 3.0's CD is very cool for installation and Alan Iglesias was
telling me about the tutorials on the cdrom too. I wish more people would put
their multi-diskette software on cd-rom instead (hint, hint <g>).
To clarify, I'm using Pshop 3.0 at work, but need to decide whether to upgrade
my personal copy of Pstyler 2 to Pshop 3. It's inevitable I think, but there
were many nice features on Pstyler which I really liked. For example, being
able to preview thumbnails and info of images before loading; load a portion of
an image; image navigator etc.
Now Adobe owns the source code for Pstyler, I'm hoping they'll incorporate some
of those features into the next Pshop.

According to the documentation with Photoshop 3, there is a "Quick Edit"
plug-in that would let you open just part of an uncompressed TIFF file to work
on it.
In Chapter 3 "Acquiring Quick Edit Files" FWIW.

good tip. I'm just a beginner with Pshop 3 and I'm sure there's a lot of
features and plug-ins yet to be discovered.
the Mac-dudes at work have a nice little browser/thumbnail plug-in which lets
them open just a thumbnail and get info on any file and then open the file into
Pshop 3. This seems to nicely duplicate the built-in feature that Pstyler 2
has.
