#3DS r2 Resale Policy

Kevin,
In answering my question regarding the resale policy of updated versions of 3DS
you wrote:
"Once you've submitted your software for upgrade, that's it. You no longer
have a valid license on the previous version, and it is not saleable. In fact,
it is mucho illegal to do so. You can, however, sell your upgraded copy,
utilizing a License Transfer Agreement from Autodesk or your dealer."
Is that what I've seen for sale here are upgraded copies?? What does that
mean, that people don't want it after they've upgraded? I'm confused.

People bought their particular release, then for whatever reasons, decided they
didn't need them any more. If you are considering purchase of used software,
get the serial number and call Autodesk. They will confirm that the license is
valid, and will get you the paperwork to transfer ownership.
Tim,
You are exactly right. Some folks no longer need the # of copies of a
particular product, due to end of project (or worse, end of business),
financial distress, changeover to other platforms, etc. Regardless of how many
times you may have upgraded a product, it's still ONE product.
