#Landscape Explorer
3 messages in this thread
Hi
I just uploaded the latest version of my landscape viewing/GIS package
Landscape Explorer
to the Geology library as land.zip. This replaces all previous files (I think
you've
only got land22.zip, but in several libraries).
The description is as follows:
Landscape Explorer v3.00 <ASP>
A 3D landscape viewer/GIS application for Windows – go exploring without ever
leaving your
PC! The Map Definition screen is used to import data from digital files or
scanned map
images to create 3D models of landscape surfaces. Areas of different terrains
such as water,
forest or rocks may be defined. Once created the models can be examined with
the
Landscape Viewer from any viewpoint. A wide range of different drawing schemes
are
supported ranging from the realistic such as Summer and Winter colours to
specialized
schemes for GIS data mapping. Digital data file formats supported include USGS
DEM 7.5',
UK OS NTF Panorama (Landranger) and ASCII.
Thanks for the upload!!!!

Hi, Kevin–
Thanks!
Maps and mapping programs are a point of constant interest here; notice the
discussions under the "Ask a USGS geologist" topic (a classic example of thread
wandering).
