I have listened to many tapes, and have read many books on the achievement of success, and for the most part you are right. About 90-95% of this population are unsatisified with their careers, but I believe there is a percentage out there who are actually doing what they enjoy. I agree with the philosophy of stopping at nothing to find what it is you are good at, but my problem is; at times I'm not sure what it is I want to do. But I feel I must try to find it. I know the sciences really interest me and I've looked at physics and engineering, but the time factor is a lot more than geology, and so is the intensity of the coursework. I know the earth and space sciences are interesting, so I thought about geology after looking at the job possibilities in my college catalogue. When I talked about working in the field I was basing it on the job possibilities listed in the catalogue, i.e., Soils engineering, Oil and Gas geologist, Environmental Geologist, to mane a few. They seem a lot more interesting to me than a career in business. I'm currently signed up for 2 classes in geology to get an idea if that's what I really want to do. I guess I'm still searching until I get hit by that lightening bolt that tells me THIS IS REALLY ME! And this will certainly never happen if I don't at least make the effort. Maybe I'm dreaming too much and I need to get more practical and just settle for anything that provides a decent living. But this really goes against my core beliefs. Thanks for listening… gary
