Wayne – This is my second reply to you, I know, but I thought I'd pass along a bit of success on my CDROM front. The root of my problems turned out to be a need for the rev 7.0 A2091 ROM chips. I had the 6.6s, which the Asim docs said should work, but for some reason, they just didn't. I could only access the CDROM with Opus running, and only after rebooting at least once. Some other nuts and bolts for comparison: A2000/'030 (Derringer) 2.04 OS 6M RAM (1M chip, 2M on the A2091, 1M on the Derringer, 2M on an A2500 expansion card) 52M internal Quantum HD 88M Syquest Removeable, in the 5.25 bay The replacement ROMs cost me $38.00 plus shipping, and are worth every penny. The drive now responds completely normally, although it must be powered down or have a disc upon bootup. Disc changes are normal; access is normal. I hope this is helpful – let me know what you come up with. Also, a big public thanks to all who offered helpful suggestions during my time of troubleshooting – I only hope I may return the favor sometime. – Rob.. RBProductions <cyrano@aztec.inre.asu.edu>
