#Thinkpad 750c
7 messages in this thread
I'm about to try to install 3DS4 on my IBM Thinkpad 750c.
Does anyone have any experience with this combo or any hints, suggestions, or
warnings?

John – I think the 750C has an enhanced parallel port. It'll be interesting
to see if the dongle works…
Let us know, ok? I have a 750Ce which does not have the EPP, but I haven't
installed 3DS on it… yet…
Won't you mind only having 256 colours?
Dave
Thanks, Dave, for the heads-up on the parallel port. I'll check it out.
>>256 colors…
The ability to carry 3DS around should be a pretty good trade for the color
resolution. I've spent many evenings in hotel rooms wishing I was not 1500
miles from my modeling machine. Also, I do all my 3DS work at home, then drive
a half-hour or so if I need to go into work. To tweak something and rerender a
frame it's an hour roundtrip. The laptop should help a lot (it only has 12
megs of memory though, yikes!)

Check out the HWLOCK.TXT file – it mentions IBM Thinkpads.

Thany you much for this info. I'd read the original file but wasn't aware that
it had been updated. I'll check it out.

I don't know about version 4, but I ran 3DS3 on my thinkpad 750C when I was
still at IBM…
