Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have seen the Roadside Geology guide, I use it
all the time. However, the exact locations of many outcrops are unclear, and
many of the outcrops are gone. I have other guidebooks but they are all out of
date.
I've been contacting as many earth science teachers as I can by mail, and had a
letter put in the recent STANYS Bulletin. I just got a computer and joined
Compuserve and realized that this might be a good way to reach other people.
I'm asking teachers to give me their favorite outcrop for collecting either
rocks, fossils or minerals. I'm hoping for lots of responses, then I will
organize them by region, and put them in a guidebook entitled 'Our Favorite
Outcrops'. Anyone who was nice enough to 'give up' one of their spots will in
return be sent a copy of the guidebook. Thanks for offering to pass this along
to your dad for me!
