Hallo everybody, I need some advice on a video capture board that will capture still frames from Hi-8 PAL format camcorder video tape. I have had a Videoblaster FS 200, but the quality of the captures were highly disappointing. I would like the highest quality resolution at preferably 800 x 600 capture. ( the files will be used for professional distribution. ) My budget is limited ( read : under $1000 ) but I also realize that Garbage in = Garbage out. Later on ( when I have more money ) I would also like for the board to capture video sequences from the Hi-8 tape, although it is not that important at this stage. ( I guess at that time the technology would have come up with something good at lower prices 😉 Now if I can find a board that will do both at the same time, I will be really happy 🙂 Does anybody have experience of the Winvision Pro capture board ? According to their ad in the Computer Shopper, their captures rival scans from high end scanners (for about $400). What board are you all using that you can recommend ? Regards, Francois

I am looking for a similar board, so I will be keen on seeing the responses to the original question. Additionally, I would like to capture moving images, though size and resolution does not have to be top end. Have you looked at Intel's Indeo card at all? Dave
