I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to anyone who doesn't already know me. I write product reviews and news articles which are published in the Multimedia Forum, Consumer Electronics Forum, and others. I focus primarily on Multimedia and DeskTop Video (DTV), but I also cover consumer electronics and general PC topics. (IBM-type PC systems. Sorry, I don't cover Mac or Amiga). You can find my articles, and a newsletter I have started, in Library 16 of the Multimedia Forum (GO MULTIM). Member of this forum may be interested in the PARTx.ZIP series. These are presentations I created to help users enter the world of Multimedia and DTV. PART1.ZIP is an overview of the environment. PART2.ZIP details the products I currently recommend to construct your own MPC/DTV PC System. PART3.ZIP deals with constructing a complete DTV studio (including details on furnishings, cables, waveform monitor/vectorscope, etc.). These presentations require an IBM-type PC running Windows 3.1. Feel free to downlolad them and let me know what you think of the information. My newsletter, The PC, MULTIMEDIA, AND DTV EXAMINER, can also be found in Library 16. I am working on a new means of distribution (Adobe Acrobat), let me know if you have any preferences. It is currently a set of .ZIPped .GIF files you can view on screen or print on printer. I look forward to participating here in the DTV Forum. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help out. If you are a manufacturer who has a product you would like reviewed, drop me an E-Mail note and I'll see when I can fit it in. Hi James, Could you please consider adding the DTV forum to your distribution outlets for your publications? Thanks and welcome to the forum! -John

Desktop video processing is what I'm interested in. I'm a total novice. I recently purchased the ASL Megamotion board which comes with Adobe's Premiere 1.1. I have a 486/33 with 8 MB RAM and a hard drive with~400 MB of capacity. Incidentaly, how did you interrupt my perusal of message on the bulletin boards of the Forum? Irwin Bardash

I understood all of your message except for the following… "Incidentaly, how did you interrupt my perusal of message on the bulletin boards of the Forum?" I call in using an automated system, I have no idea how it could have interrupted anything you were doing on the service. I'll check it out and make sure it isn't doing anything it shouldn't. Is it possible someone else did? James Bell Jr. — Multimedia Contributor – CompuServe
