Worth Noting:
Telnet to CompuServe with WigWam
(19-Dec-94)
The latest version of WigWam for CompuServe, 2.00j allows you to connect to
CompuServe via the Internet using telnet in a process that's as easy as
connecting with a telephone. For the program to work, you must have an
implementation of Windows sockets (WINSOCK.DLL) working on your PC, as well as a
connection to the Internet. For many people a telnet connection is cheaper and
more convenient than directly dialing CompuServe or paying charges to a network
provider to connect you to CompuServe.
Unregistered copies of WigWam, which are fully working except for the prune
function, can be found in the UK Communications Forum, GO UKCOMM in Library 12,
"WigWam" in the file WW2DEM.EXE. The UK Communications Forum is part of
CompuServe's extended services.
If you do connect to CompuServe via telnet, be sure to change your password
regularly.
