Hello to everyone!
After one and a half year of developing RayMan is now available!
In the name of the complete developer team I want to say thank you to all the
people who helped us to develope this great product!
Without the help of all the many users here in the ASOFT forum we wouldn`t
have any chance to implement all those features you and we want to have.
A very special thanks to all the beta tester who sent us reports and
suggestions in the last few month. A very very very super special thanks to
Bill Batchelor, the best tester in the world. (Thanks again for the football
<g>). And a official congratualtion to Brandon MacDougall for his graphic of
the month image which he made with RayMan.
Now it`s time to let RayMan out to all the 3D Studio user who hopefully make a
lot of great images with our raytracer. Have fun and success with it.
We have a little christmas gift for all of you: we have reduced the RayMan
price of the english version to a special introductory offer of US$595 until
01.31.95. After that RayMan will cost about US$948.
For ordering or more information please contact Digimation.
Thanks again and a merry merry christmas and a happy new year with a lot of
incredible graphics and animations.
Michael Bassier
Congratulations, Michael (and team)!
You deserve it after all the time you've spent on this project.
Now, good luck on rayman version 2.0. <g>

I whish you and your team a merry christmas and a bug free 1995.

You said to Ger-man: " Now, good luck on rayman version 2.0. <g> "
How cruel! (Laughing out loud)
Besides, he might want to release 1.5 first! <GRIN>
By the way, have you ever "eyed" the works of Rick Griffin?
I'm thinking specifically "Tales from the Tube," No. 1."
Only 50 cents back in 1973 when it was published by
the Print Mint in Berkeley.
Best wishes to the gang. Happy Holidays.
Let's start the New Year off with a big party!
Whaddya say?!
Aloha
K-man
(Just a little software developer humor. Forgive me!)
Nope… never heard of Rick Griffin.
A party? Every day is a party in asoft… right?
G
( Every day is a party in asoft… right? )
There's a kind of hush….
>> By the way, have you ever "eyed" the works of Rick Griffin? <<
Wooooooooooooow!!!! I knew behind all of that cyberpunk mumbo-jumbo
lurked the heart of a true underground art fan. 🙂
I actually met him when I was "REALLY" young. I have a big collection
of his work and misc. other pieces from Print Mint. (THE underground
comic book publisher in the Bay Area.) Rick is one of the artist that
I was fixated on for many many years. It amazes me how many people,
especially people in San Fran and Berkely don't know who this man is.
It's been virtually impossible to walk around the Bay area without
seeing his work for over 20 years. Oh well …… back to lurking.
😐
Paul
I'd really like to meet Griffin and find out what inspired him.
His inking is awesome. What's REALLY young?
Check out Tales from the Tube.
Murphy's in there surfing all over.
Major De Ja Voodoo.

That's great, Michael. Any chance you could post some benchmarks of RayMan?
Mark
When I have the time to make some real benchmarks I upload them. I`ll
have and upload a RayMan vs. Truespace benchmark in a few days.
Michael:
Congratulations on shipping RayMan! This is definitely a program which should
be available to every 3DS user, I can't wait to see what other people will be
doing with it!
Everyone, if you haven't seen the results of RayMan, you won't believe it!
Check out the sample images and screen captures, this program is great!
Happy Holidays to all!
Greg Pyros
Hello Greg!
Thank you for your kind words. I hope I`ll see some nice stuff made with
RayMan from you in 1995. Merry Christmas to you and your team. BTW: I think you
haven`t any snow there in California, don`t you? We have no snow here in our
city, too. I`ll come to California for the Siggraph 1995. Maybe we can have a
meeting…
Michael
Good to here that Rayman is finished. I have had a fun time working
with you and look forward to all the new Raytraced images. Say hello
to "the man" for me,
Michael:
>> I think you haven`t any snow there in California, don`t you?
California's a pretty big state! Actually, from where I am, I can drive up
into the mountains for some pretty good skiing in the morning, then hit the
beach and surf in the afternoon! Now if I only had time to actually do that!
>> I`ll come to California for the Siggraph 1995.
Great! Plan on coming early, there will be lots to do here!

Okay, I know I am going to sound COMPLETELY out of it, but what does RayMan
do, exactly? Is it a raytracer? Sorry for the ignorance. Post the info, I
may be interested in purchasing. Thanks.

Oh, I didn`t know that there is anyone out there who doesn`t know what
RayMan is. Yes, it`s a raytracer for 3DS but a little bit more than
that. With the additional material parameters you can improve your
scenes not only when you have reflective or transparent objects but
also when have "normal" materials. Please contact Digimation for
more detailed information.
Congratulations on delivering the baby, Michael.
Best of luck and Happy Holidays!
Damn Michael, I completely missed this thread until now. I was wondering when
you were going to release this thing <g>. I hope you are very successful with
it, as it's really a great program, and you worked and *listened* very
dilligently. Thanks again for the kind words.
If you don't quit throwing that ball around, it's not going to make a very
attractive gift! <GGG> Happy Holidays. See you on RM 2.0.
