Well, those ASC files get pretty large also. The good news is that there is
rarely the other problems associated with DXF import. Let me know how it works
for you –
Merry Christmas!

Do you know of someone that might have some source code to write a
minimal 3DS file? I could plug it into Blob Sculptor.

You can also purchase the 3ds File Toolkit from your dealer or from
Autodesk. Search the Software Dev Kit section with a keyword of FTK,
there should be 2 files that are File Toolkit Related.

thanks Jonas! I'll look into it.
I tried the RAW->3DS and it worked fine. It was MUCH faster loading
into 3DS. I'm not the least concerned with the file size, only
mentioning it to get sympathy from anyone who has loaded DXF's
before. <g> The same file written as a RAW was processed in a
fraction of the time it took to load the DXF into 3DS. Thank you for
the hint!
We have a Converter for RAW format in InterChange, too.
>>RAW converter…
Thanks. BTW, concerning my previous request for ALIAS/3DS conversion – the SGI
was moved for another project for a while, so our immediate need for a
converter went to zero. Thanks for the help, though.
