#Flowing Liquid
3 messages in this thread
I am attempting to create and animate an image of a liquid flowing
rapidly through a pipe while viewing on a line of sight down the axis
of the bore. The liquid flows past the viewers head converging to a
vanishing point at the end of the bore axis.
Are there any IPAS routines or other programs that might help? Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe you could animate the liquid simply by using cloudy whispy thingys flying
randomly by the camera towards the vanishing point, you know, as if the
liquid's density or contents varied slightly. Or maybe particles in the liquid
(I don't know what the liquid is, so I can't really be more specific, just
don't put particles in the pipe if its supposed to be potable [ok for drinkin']
water in a water pipe<g>).
What IPAS routines to use, I'm not sure. We do mostly architectural stuff, so
we don't use a lot of IPAS routines.
Anyway, hope this helps a little (that is, if it made any sense<g>).

Thanks for that. I know what you mean by "cloudy, wispey things, but I am
having trouble getting the proper looking material. As for having particles
moving in the flow I will have that because one of the end results I want to
show is the effects of erosion caused by foreign objects. The type of liquid
is unimportant in this project but if it is potable water some of that stuff
has more things floating around in it than I care to think about<g>.
