Hi Jonas, I have just tried to load a 25MB DXF File into 3ds3. I tried importing by layer + color only to get the message "Not enough RAM for operation" (after half an hour or so) on a 486/100 with 64MB and 1.7GB HD that is obviously not swapping. By entity I had to switch off the Computer after 4 hours with 2400 Objects because of Christmas Break <g>. Al Options (weld etc.) are OFF Any Ideas??? Thanx, Bye & Merry X-Mas Michael

If you had an object/layer that had more than 64K faces, that could cause the "Not enough RAM" message. You might want to check into that inside of AutoCAD. Re loading by entity… that can take an extremely long time for thousands of objects.

If you can split your DXF up in different files each representing one or more layers and join them that might solve the problem unless it is what Jonas mentioned. Christophe
