I am not too familiar with the SGI platform and specifically the FLINT
application that you mention. Can you tell me a little more about what it

Sure – FLINT runs on the Indigo2. It has a "big brother" known as
FLAME that runs on the Onyx. FLINT is primarily a compositing tool
with paint capabilities. You've seen the results ofFLAME or FLINT in
many commercials, not to mention movies like Gump where you have live
video sceens that you know never happened but seem as if they sure
did. It has a hefty price tag, but does things that most other
packages cannot even get close to doing. Discreet Logic works on
other things as well. They are coming out soon with a 3D paint
application and no doubt down the road will bring in editing
capabilities as well.
