But for the sake of argument we will assume that you have a HiFi VCR. If you output the HiFi tracks from the VCR to a non HiFi TV it will output the audio to you one speaker. >>>On a hi-fi TV. If no hi-fi audio is recorded will it output the linear tracks?<<< That is a good question and the only aswer I can give is that on my HiFi tv it will output the one linear track to both speakers. On other TV's I am not realy shure……how I avoid any problems though is to do the following. My master tape will usualy have only one channel of linear audio. This is becase the other linear track has LTC timecode on it. I work with only linear audio because you can seperate it from the video and this allows much more conttrol. Now when I dub the tape I record the audio to all channels. This way a viewer with a HiFi VCR and TV can get the benifit of HiFi. Regards, Michael W. Towe Falcon Video Productions Santee Ca.
