The Video Toaster is a product made by NewTek which I don't know too much about. The Video Director setup for it uses the com ports to communicate with it though. I have found a way to get around the GPI trigger problem which I had told you about earlier. I discovered that if I insert a WAV file effect, I can have the audio que me as to when to press the buttons on the devices that would normally need to be triggered. I guess you could call this the poor mans GPI controller, but till I can write a GPI driver and rig some hardware to the parallel port, it will have to do. By using different sound files, I can tell which device I need to trigger. I just received a Video Blaster RT300 today and guess I will have to send it back. I had tried to order a PS200 but no one had it in stock and this was supposed be a newer version, but it does not support video overlay and the Video Spigot I am using does all the Blaster does and was $100 cheaper. I am trying to get a capture card that is compatible with the Video Director so I can use its storyboard feature. Do you find the EditMaker a bit difficult to make changes to the edit list, or was I missing something when I tried to get mine to work? Have you been to any of the Videonics Seminars?
