The Management Buy-Out team of Commodore (UK) Limited announced that
following a meeting of Commodore International (CIL) US Creditors in
New York on Tuesday, 20th December, the liquidators of CIL have
accepted the UK team's offer to acquire the assets of CIL and has
requested that they move with all possible speed to completion.
Whilst there remain many obstacles in the road to success, the team
are delighted to move one large step closer to their goal of
re-establishing the Amiga in its rightful place as a leading product
in the multimedia/home computer markets.

ah, yes, the liqidators legally accepted the bid as what it is, as a bid.
But, what do you think, does the request for moving to completion with all
possible speed could mean? Is the bid still incomplete, and in spite of
this, it has been accepted so far?

It probably means that now the first bid has been accepted, the auction
can now begin, always assuming there are any rival bidders left. This is
the part that is expected to take "just a few days" to complete, but
because of the time of year I guess it might take longer.

I'm sorry but for what I heard, Bahamian court liquidations take 3 months which
in the rest iof the world equivalent so far seems to be 9 months to a year.
Last time they said that it would take two weeks to get the bids (in Bahamian
time I guess) which in the rest of the world equivalent it seems to be 2-3
months. I just not used to this type of time zone. So is real soon equivalent
to… 4 months?

You say the bids are in and the "auction" is going on… Are you SURE
about this? I thought someone had to sign some contract thing that they'd been
putting together for the last six months, deliniating what was for sale and
what wasn't.
Can you confirm this? Might this all REALLY be over soon?

I spoke with Alex Amor and Dave Defelici yesterday, that is what they told me.
Alex said that their deposit was placed in escrow. He also said their offer
was only valid for 15 days then it expires. He also said that at this point in
time he expects action by next week (1st week of January '95). If there is
none … well, he wasn't optimistic.
In regard to Pleasance's press release of last week — CEI knows nothing about
it, the trustee has said nothing, Pleasance has made many claims in the past
several months. If you believed him before you might as well believe him again
— then wait for the announcement.

Is this something like "dog years"? You know, 1 human year equals 7 dog
years? 1 Bahamian month equals 3 normal months? Makes sense to me. 🙂

If the time in the Bahamas is anything like time in the French West
Indies, I'm not surprised at the 2 weeks = 1 year situation, but it's
getting very old.

Real Soon Now is equivalent to whatever you want it to be equivalent to.
Traditionally it is the time period given to "imminent" releases, which
can be anything from three days to three hundred years depending on which
company you work for,
