ASDG dual serial board is out. But are you intending to market your own two
or more serial device boards to allow separate MIDI out ports to be
accessed via "Ex1", "Ex2" etc (from the Music-X Sequencer Page)? How will
Music-X "know" which port is which? I really want to output "symphonic"
sized sequences needing more than 16 simultaneous instruments. Help! Again,
I hope that your official release of version 1.1 will be mode known to
registerd users as I am. The only "real" problem I've had with Music-X is
with the Filters Page. I love the multiple keyboard shortcuts and overall
user interface. When will your Patch Editor Construction Kit be available!
I especially want to work with my Korg DSS-1 more; but an Amiga
editor/librarian has not been available for it to my knowledge.
Amigo Business Machines has a 8 port serial board that is MIDI Capable! The
ASDG board does not support the MIDI transfer rate as far as I understand.
Amigo is working on a dedicated Multi-MIDI board as an add on rather then
adding serial ports. I'll keep you posted.
Richard, thanks for the info! Between Music-X, KCS Level II v3.0, and
Bars&Pipes Demo (I hope soon to buy it!) for my Amiga – and using Lyra and
CM3 on my CoCo 3 – I've been keeping very busy. Still "addicted" to using
DMCS though – if only v2.5 was available for the Amiga!!!
Right now we have no plans for our own serial hardware. The MIDI box we
had planned (MIDI-X) is on hold, and would need the serial port anyway.
I don't know how Music-X would handle multiple midi outs. I'm sure David
Joiner has a few ideas. I will ask him and get back to you.
Version 1.1 will be made known to registered users. It may even be sent
without notification. In any case I will announce it here first. I do know
that v1.1 will have a new page, but I don't know what that page does
(excuse my ignorance!).

I just read that Checkpoint Technologies makes a dual serial board for the
Amiga 2000 called "The Serial Solution." It supports the MIDI baud rate.
Also, Blue Ribbon Bakery is working on a hardware/software combination
which will support *48 channels*! Meanwhile, I'll look forward to Music-X
v1.1.
