#PAR/Micropolis problems

Your PAR card must be different from mine, on my card (at least as far as
I remember) there is no socket, just the pins sticking up so the cable can
plug in either way. What software are you using for the morph, I use
MorphPlus.

No, you are correct, there is no socket, just pins. But, one of the pins
is missing and it corresponds to a plugged hole on the ribbon cable
connector. The other ribbon cable connectors are the same way.. .and the
drives are missing the pin, too. This virtually assures that everything
hooks up right (unless the DPS supplied ribbon cable is wrong! 🙁 ).
I've been using Imagemaster R/T, it works ok. I seem to have difficulty
grabbing and moving points… they don't seem to move smoothly with the
pointer, they move in big chunks. And, when I release the mouse button,
the points plant themselves close to, but not where the pointer is. This
is the whole problem I have with R/T. Nothing seems to be where I put it,
and I have to compensate a little, then again, there is no consistancy
where things end up. I find the program full of features, but kind of
sloppy, and not very user friendly or sophisticated as compared to
Photoshop (especially 3.0).
How do you like MorphPlus? I think I'm getting it because of the new
pricing.

I have used MorphPlus many times to morph from one still image to another
and except for the begining where you have to set the paths etc. for the
new project, I find it very easy to use. I output 24-bit frames to my PAR
card, the results are excellent. Some day when I have the time I'll have
to try morphing two moving objects.
I may have not looked at the ribbons socket, therefor it may have
something blocking one of the holes.
How are you progressing getting your PAR fixed?

Well, the PAR is just sitting there in my 2000 without a drive hooked to
it. It helps keep the room warm (over-achieving air conditioner at work
here). Found a place that has the 1 gig Micropolis for $599, haven't
called them yet, but I will be asking them to check the drive on a PAR,
otherwise… no sale.
I'm ordering MorphPlus today. It'll be my Xmas present to myself! When I
get more money, I'll be getting the TBC IV for grabbing, then rotoscoping.
Moving morphs will be an interesting challenge and a good addition to my
arsenal of wierd things I can do with my Amiga.
