You apparently hit the nail on the head. I just hardcoded the path to the
Installer program on my system, and it at least ran. Of course, it
reported midway through "An error has occurred" and then terminated. No
idea what the error was. I am a senior analyst in my company's computer
department. If any of my programmers ever wrote software that gave
feedback that meaningless, they could kiss their raises goodbye. If they
did it often enough, they might kiss their jobs goodbye.
