Hi, Hope Xmas was great!. It seems that there is some sort of software problem in my version of 3D Studio? After changing some materials settings in the materials editor, I'm continually getting materials that have built in bumps (looks like paint that has been heated and is bubbling). Also green and blue color patches show up arbitrarily in the rendered image. After re-assigning a flat beige material to all object in scene, I still get the same result. Further, I than reset 3D Studio and loaded another project file which I had rendered before. Same problem. Should I reload the software?

<< (looks like paint that has been heated and is bubbling). Also green and blue color patches show up arbitrarily in the rendered image. >> Are you rendering a flic or individual files? Does the problem appear in both renderings? If it only appears in flics, I'd suggest using a medium palette instead of low. If it's happening in both, I'd review your "3ds vibcfg" settings before contemplating a reinstall..

Actually, melting, bubbling paint sounds like a really cool material — if you fix it, make sure you can duplicate it for future use! <bg>
