Hi Chris, Being a "new musician" myself I didn't understand how to get my Casio MT-540 (an EXCELLENT keyboard for a LOW price) to work with my 2000. I eventually ended up getting Dr. T's MRS program (the beginners version) and an ECE midi interface. They work EXCELLENTLY with my 2000. I suggest Dr. T's over MUSIC X because MUSIC X has A LOT of functions that will initially be very confusing for the beginner. Creating music via midi is not done in a snap, you have to understand how things work and the less variables you have to deal with the better when a problem is encountered. Dr. T retails for about $35.00 and it was awarded best software package of 1988. Please take a look at it before you dive too deep. words from a fellow beginner,…..
