My budget would be in the several thousand dollar range. I am considering upgrading my 486/66 with 16 ram to a pentium pc with a video board. Thanks. Bruce

Bruce, I think that I would recommend taking a look at the FAST Video Machine Lite with two or three Lan-C/Control-M interface VTRs like the Sony SLV-R1000 or Panasonic AG-1970s. This solution will give you machine control with VITC Time Code and +/- 2-5 frame accuracy. If your budget allows it you might add Insciber CG for the FAST for Titling and something like Fractal Painter for painting/touch up work on your graphics. Please ask if I can elaborate on any of the above or if I have left you with more questions than answers 🙂 -John
