The more money you saved in buying the equipment is the longer time you will spent on that equipment to produce the same video. I've never used Cineworks, so that I can't comment on that. Its speed to generate effects sounds really nice. Do you happen to know how they do that? DN>> In Premiere, an effect preview can take several minutes to calculate, and you have to "build" the entire film into a file before it can be viewed. Our software, MediaStudio's Video Editor, can't generate the effects in real time either. To be pratical, our users have to rely on small preview window to guess what will happen in the result video. To actually generate the video will take even longer time. Unlike traditional DVE, we all use software render engines without hardware assistance (however, you still need a fast CPU to help us to do the job). The only difference between software implementation is the code effeciency and the output quality that will generate. –Vincent Chen
