It's not that difficult to access more than (actually 4) colors in MS Basic
although that's the default.
It all has to do with how many "bit planes" you choose to define in your
program. The default is 2 which gives you 2^2 colors. I'm not sure that you
can get more than 16 (2^4…4 bit planes) in Hi-Res but you certainly can in
Lo-Res…
Unfortunately, my AmigaBasic manual is downstairs right now so I can't quote
you the exact syntax… Read the WINDOW and SCREEN sections of your manual.
