#recoverable ram disk
9 messages in this thread
I have read messages about a program called recoverable ram disk. Is this
public domain and if so could you tell me which library it is in? Thanks
…Mary
Mary, ASDBVD.ARC in DL9 – there may be other files related to the ASDG RRD such
as a sample startup-sequence and mountlist.
Let us know if you need help swetting it up. Marlene

Interesting that you should ask. That is exactly what my last message
to you was about. I am pretty sure that it is in one of the DLs here but the
best way to get it would be to send a letter to Perry Kivolowitz of ASDG (PPN
73170,2663). He frequents this forum so you can contact him here. His phone
number is (608) 273-6585 and I don't have his address now since he just moved.
You will probably want to get both the ASDG ram and FACII which is a
commercial product that improves floppy disk access speed.

Bill, Is FACII from Perry or is it someother company, and if it is what
company? Also how well does it really work? Does it speed up reading and
writing of large files, like more then 100k? What about reading and writing
alot of little files like coping a directory full of files. Ed

I hope that some of the others are reading your questions as I do not
yet have a copy of FACII myself. It is ASDG's product (Perry).
I don't know just how much of an improvement there is however, there
are quite a few people on this forum using it. I drug my feet a little on
buying it since I don't use the floppies much and there was an upgrade due when
I originally thought about getting FAC (FACII).
