I was just wondering if someone out there would be interested in writing a terminal program for uploading and downloading binary and ASCII messages with function keys and a sequential dialer and a few of the popular protocols and NOTHING ELSE??? Such is not to discount the efforts of Mr. Blish who has cranked out a new version every three days but It costs me a lot of dough to keep up with that. All I really want is Quick B and a few WXYZ-modem protocols. Nothing fancy. Just down and dirty. Hope this inspires someone afraid to tackle scripting, speech, video conferencing and online graphics. How about any of the older terminal programs collecting dust in the DLs? Everybody's into feature-itis these days, but the first few terminals released (back in the days of the first ATerms, for example) were pretty sparse, like you describe. I think the first ATerm was only about 13K in size. Go for a browse and see what you can turn up.

How about ARGOTERM. I seem to recall that one being ridiculously small on the disk, maybe under a K. It supported XMODEM and ASCII transfers and speech. It could not run from the bench, however.

Right, that was probably the smallest realistic term program ever for Ami.
