Accelerators /30

The company I work for uses lots of GVP 030 accelerators, and we also used the previous Ronin Hurricane accelerators for awhile. In my opinion, the design of the Hurricane (and the 28mhz Imtronics version) is flawed. Ronin chose to ignore the rules (as setup by Dave Haynie and others at CBM) regarding cards occupying auto-config memory space. They did not engineer a way for external DMA devices (like the A2091 or HardFrame) to access their 32-bit memory. This makes use of this accelerator with DMA devices problematical at best. Thus, I wouldn't generally recommend the Imtronics unit. If I were to purchase an accelerator today, I would get either the A2620, the A2630, or the GVP 3001 in order of available $$$. All of these seem to configure properly, and have offered few problems when working with other equipment. The 3001 is a real screamer too, considering you can spend $6 for a 32-mhz crystal and most likely run at that speed.
