The 2500/30 is listed at $3,679 educational discount which gets you a A2500/30 68030 CPU, A2286D AT Bridgeboard, and a A1084 RGB color monitor. The A2000HD/PC package is $2,579 with the AT BB and RGB color monitor. That is about $1,100 difference. Since the GVP board is more, the A2500/30 package could be the way to go in getting a 68030 Amiga. Of course, the GVP board with the switch would run stuff that requires a 68000. (We'll probably go with the cheaper choice. Sargon III can still beat me in chess on my Apple ][+ (darn it! I can beat Battle Chess!) And I don't mind waiting a few extra microseconds to generate my favorite fractal, Martian, etc. Moreonver, The A2500 would probably get more software support!) How 'bout 'dem Apples! Er, .., excuse me, Amigas! I'll guess I've to hunt up someone willing to let me try out my Battle Chess on an Amiga A2500 or hope Interplay comes out with an updated version. Anyway, we aren't in any hurry because we expect my wife's new job as an RN to help pay for the extra computing power a year from now. "And the baby needs new shoes … " (Same song. Next verse!)
