#ProPage 1.31 troubles
3 messages in this thread
I am having a problem with Professional Page 1.31 which I can't solve. The
people at Gold Disk haven't been much help either. I am using an Amiga 2000
with 3 meg ram and Super Agnes with a HP Deskjet printer. Every time I
print a document it begins at a different vertical position on the page.
One particular simple document consists of a single box with 5 lines of
text. I have tried different preferences and printer dip switch settings.
Has anybody seen this problem? Any suggestions or solutions?
Try using the PCL (HP's Printer Control Language) command to set the bottom
margin. It seems to us that it needs to be set, even though the docs say
it shouldn't.
Steve,
I have PP 1.3 something (how do you tell if its 1.31? Mine says 1.3 in the
banner on the window). Anyway, with 2 different printers it comes out 1/2
inch more left and 3/4 inch more down on the page (or vice versa…I
forget) than is shown on the screen.
As for the people at Gold DIsk… forget it. Once they've got your dough
they don't give a damn about any problems you've got – you're on your own.
Actually, I'm supprised you got through. I've been trying since before
Chistmas and all I ever get is no answer (after 20 -40 rings) or a busy
signal. But on other packages of theirs I have gotten through, sent disks
with samples of the problems, hounded them by mail and phone…never did
get an answer.
