Eureka! I have just finished, at least symbolicly,writing on the board 100 times, "SERIAL IS NOT PARALLEL!!!" Thanks to help from the M100SIG, when I went back over the connections,and slept on it, it finally occured to me that I had forgotten that my printer is hooked up parallel. Gosh!, shuffle. Blush! I have just finished transferring an ASCII file at 19200 baud and opening it in Amiga's WordPerfect. This is what worked for me -once the cabling was straightened out. SETTINGS: Amiga500 -using HandShake terminal softwares options: Baud 19200, 7bit Read and Write, one stop bit, parity ignored, Xon/Xoff enabled: Terminal Line Wrap off, New Line Mode off, Transmit CR as CR, Transmit LF as LF, Receive CR as CR, LF ****(important for M100 work)***, Receive LF as LF. The Model 100 Telcom STATUS setting is 97I1E,10 . The "Direct/AcousticCup" switch in ACP position, the "Originate/Answer" switch in Originate position. CONNECTION: M100 RS232 C outlet to RS232 C cable, to NullModem, to Amiga SERIAL port. N.B. I had to remove some "tie down" nuts and bolts from some plugs to get things plugged in. PROCEDURE: Amiga 500 running "HandShake" set as above and in ASCII Receive mode "waiting". M100 in Telcom with F4 pressed for "Term". At this point the M100 screen should offer the UP and DOWN options. 1)Press UP -M100 requests file name (write it down -or go back to main menu, look, go back to Telcom and press F4 as above.) 2)Enter file name (ROOTS.DO in this test.) 3) When M100 requests Width enter 78. 4) Press Enter and transmission begins. 5) After transmission ends ON THE AMIGA end ASCII transfer (mouse or Rt Amiga + e) to dump capture buffer to destination.
