#NEED HELP! – SUPRA 2400

Hello Out there!!
I am having MAJOR problems with a SUPRA 2400 Modem. I don't have any
documentation for it, as I bought it second hand. Here is what happens.
It initializes as OK and when given the ATDT command it will go "off-hook"
but it will not dial. Is there a dial prefix I need and do not have?
Nothing I have tried has worked yet, and I have even tried to reset the
modem to "factory presets" (the command string for that I found in the docs
for JR-Comm V1.01) without any luck yet.
I think the hang-up { :^) } is in the DIAL PREFIX…….HELP!!!
I sure would appreciate ANY and ALL help!

Try typing either "E1" or "&F" then "&W" this enables the command echo and
the result codes. Also you can run the modem test by using "&T1". Try
these, I have had the same problem once in a while, these have helped me.

First thing…(this may sound silly)…make sure it's plugged in to
the phone line and that it's getting a dial tone.
Next, as you tried…set the factory defaults by typing in AT&F and
a carriage return. You should get an OK prompt. Now clean out any stored
parameters (at least for the moment) by now typing in AT&W and a carriage
return. Again…you should see an OK prompt.
Now try dialing with an ATDT<phone number>. What do you hear from
it's speaker? Do you get a dial tone, and then tones indicating it's
dialing?
If not…try dialing with pulse rather than tones… ATDP<phone
number> and see if you hear the clicking as it pulses the phone line.
Oh yea…presuming it's plugged into the phone line…make sure
it's plugged into the jack on the back labeled LINE, not the jack labeled
PHONE.

I don't have it in front of me, but I believe that I set non-volatile
memory with:
AT&F&C1&D2&W
The Supra uses the normal Hayes command set.

Are you using the 2400zi internal supra modem? It requires all
telecommunciation programs to use the device called modem0.device. They
include a program "Modemmodify" that will search through any
telecommunications program and modify the program appropriately. Whap!
doesn't require it because under parameters they have included the option
to specify the device the modem uses. Hope that helps.
