IBM/A500 Conversion?

Is there a utility that enables the Amiga 500 to read ASCII files from an
IBM formatted disk? I am doing some genealogical sleuthing in the LDS
computer files and they are on an IBM clone. It is simplest to save info on
one of their 3 1/4 disks but HOW would I read this disk "df1:BAd" on my A
500 at home? IF it is not possible, its back to print-outs and retyping
when I get the sheets home. Arggh!

I see you left a message in WordPerfect B Forum, as well as here. Anyway,
I believe that the file MSDOS.ARC in library 9 here on AmigaUser may do
what you are looking for. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the reply. I've had a chance to download MSDOS.ARC and try it
out. It does the job. Took me a few tries to get the operation straight,
and at first I thought the problem was bugs in the program. It was only
bugs in my understanding of the docs. If you're going to be Copying several
files it helps to have a CLI/Shell with a command buffer since you need to
cycle through the same commands with only minor changes for the file
numbers and final file names for your saved copies.

Get CROSSDOS for your computer. There are other ways, but this is the
slickest thing out. There is a similar PD program in Library 9 of
AmigaUser;
MSDOS.ARC/B 24K 22-Feb-89 Transfer IBM-format files to AmigaDOS format
but CrossDOS is not very expensive – about $25 at your dealer – and it
works beautifully. I use it all the time to exchange my genealogical stuff
between my bridgeboard and the Amiga and between my laptop and the Amiga.
